Terms of Service

Effective date: July 4, 2026 · Operated by Nur an-Nur (nurannur.com) · selam@nurannur.com

These terms are the agreement between you and Nur an-Nur when you use our app and website. We have tried to write them the way we would want to read them: plainly. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

1. What Nur an-Nur is

Nur an-Nur is a Muslim companion app: Quran reading, prayer times, Qibla, dhikr, duas, guided spiritual sessions, and Nur — an AI companion that offers spiritual companionship with cited references from the Quran, hadith, and classical sources. The service is available as a mobile app and a web app at nurannur.com.

2. Your account

You can use the core worship tools and offline content without an account. An account (an email address and, optionally, a name) is required for account-bound services such as buying or restoring Nur+ and syncing an optional personal profile; a hosted feature may also ask you to sign in when identity or abuse protection requires it. You may send an explicit safety report without an account; in that case it is tied only to a protected version of the installation's random identifier. If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, keep access to your email secure, and use the account for yourself — one account per person, not shared or resold. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Account → Delete account) or by emailing us.

3. Our free worship pledge

The core worship features of Nur an-Nur — Quran, prayer times, Qibla, dhikr, and duas — are free and will stay free. We will never put the essentials of worship behind a paywall.

4. Nur+ subscription

5. Acceptable use

Use the app as it is intended to be used. You agree not to:

6. The AI companion — what it is and is not

Nur offers spiritual companionship and cited references. It is not a mufti, lawyer, doctor, or therapist. Its answers are generated by AI and can be incomplete or wrong. Nothing Nur says is a fatwa, or legal, medical, or financial advice. For religious rulings and personal matters of consequence, consult qualified scholars and professionals.

Always verify cited passages against the sources themselves before acting on them or sharing them.

7. Not an emergency service

Nur an-Nur is not an emergency, crisis, or suicide-prevention service and cannot summon help. If you or someone else is in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline immediately. The app may show helpline information when a conversation suggests distress, but that is informational only.

8. Intellectual property

The app, its design, software, and original content belong to Nur an-Nur and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. The Quran and classical Islamic texts belong to no one; specific translations, recitations, and typography we include are used under their respective licenses, credited where applicable. Anything you write in the app (notes, journal entries, messages to Nur) remains yours.

9. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, abuses the service, or creates risk for other users — where reasonable, we will tell you why. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) survive it.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it accurate and online, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free — this applies especially to AI-generated content and to calculated data such as prayer times and Qibla direction, which you should sanity-check locally.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nur an-Nur is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and disputes are subject to the courts of Türkiye, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If a change is significant, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
